The MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC) is required in the State of Florida to obtain a Florida motorcycle endorsement. This course is also a great course for beginners who want to learn to ride a motorcycle. We encourage experienced riders to attend with an open mind. We challenge you to surprise yourself by learning something new. Our staff never stops learning and we hope you will do the same. Let's become the very best riders that we can.
What is involved in the BRC? Students spend approximately 5 hours in the classroom learning about the mechanics of a motorcycle, how to select various riding gear, safety techniques and exciting demonstrations. If you are not having fun yet, you will!
On the range you will spend approximately 10 hours hands on, riding a motorcycle. The range portion begins with simulated practices (ex:changing gears without the engine running), followed by practicing slow riding, gradually working up to changing gears while moving. Then, quick stopping, swerving, cone-weaves, and cornering.
The day ends with everyone trying desperately to control their smiles and maintain a status of coolness. It isn't long before the shouts of joy and accomplishment echo throughout the air.
